The search for seven fishermen missing since two trawlers sank in high seas off the south east coast last week resumed today.
Hundreds of coastguard personnel and volunteers have begun combing the Co Waterford and Co Wexford coastlines for any sign of the missing bodies or the two trawlers.
Dave McMyler, Incident Manager, Irish Coastguard, who is co-ordinating the operation, said the weather conditions should not hamper today's efforts.
An airborne crew on a coastguard helicopter has been scouring the coastline from Curracloe in Co Wexford to Ardmore in Co Waterford since 9am.
The Naval ship LE Eithne is co-ordinating the surface sea search with eight fishing vessels.
The Ballycotton lifeboats has been launched and is joined by inshore lifeboats from Fethard-on-sea and Helvick Head.
The search is expected to continue as long the light permits, said Mr McMyler. Organisers had to suspend yesterday's search as storm force gales threatened the safety of volunteers on clifftops and exposed areas.
The operation is divided into two groups searching coastline stretching for more than 60 miles for wreckage or bodies from the Pere Charles and the Honeydew II.
Five men drowned when the Pere Charles disappeared two miles off Hook Head in Co Wexford on January 10, while two more lost their lives just hours later when the Honeydew II sank nearby, off Minehead, Co Waterford.
