This is a timetable of the main events in the search for Holly Wells and Jessica Chapman.
Sunday August 4: The girls spend the day playing together and return to Holly's home in Red House Gardens, Soham, Cambridgeshire, in the late afternoon. Various sightings are reported of the girls walking towards the centre of Soham. At 7 p.m. Mr Ian Webster, a taxi-driver heading towards Newmarket, sees the motorist in front struggling with two children and swerving across the road. At 8.30 p.m. Holly's parents, Nicola and Kevin Wells, discover the girls are missing and raise the alarm.
Later that night a jogger out walking his dog at Warren Hill, Newmarket, hears what he describes as "teenagers' screams".
Tuesday August 6th: Taxi-driver Mr Webster decides to speak to police in Brecon, in Wales, while on a working break. The jogger who heard the screams on Sunday night goes to police. He is seen the same day and a police report is created.
Wednesday August 7th: Mr Webster is first interviewed by police in Brecon.
Friday August 9th: Mr Webster contacts police again.
Sunday August 11th: Mr Webster is first interviewed by a detective involved in the hunt for the 10-year-olds.
Tuesday August 13th: At 11.30 a.m. Suffolk police contact Cambridgeshire police after the jogger tells them he has found two areas of disturbed earth. A Cambridgeshire police officer goes with the jogger to the wooded part of Warren Hill. Shortly after, the area is cordoned off and forensic experts are called in. - (PA)
