A search is underway in Italy for a 27-year-old Irishman who fell into Rome’s Tiber river last night.
Italian media reported the man had come to Rome for a wedding and had fallen off a bridge in a northern area of the capital.
The river’s waters are at a dangerously high level after days of heavy rain.

The Department of Foreign Affairs confirmed it was aware of incident involving an Irish national and it was providing consular assistance but would give no further details.
