Stephen John Coleman (26) from Tarry Drive appeared at Craigavon Magistrates Court earlier today in connection with the discovery of the device in the Co Armagh town last week.

He was arrested at Antrim PSNI station on Saturday and charged with possession of explosives with intent to endanger life and conspiracy to cause an explosion on April 19th.

During the hearing Mr Coleman's solicitor, Paula Collins, asked the officer to confirm that "police could not guarantee that the solicitor/client consultation facilities were not bugged at Antrim Serious Crime Suite".

The officer replied it was policy not to provide such assurances.

Mr Coleman is the second person from Lurgan to be charged in connection with the bomb. Last weekend Daire McKenna (22) appeared at Craigavon Magistrates Court for possession of explosives with intent to endanger life and conspiracy to cause an explosion.

He was remanded in custody last Saturday; Mr Coleman was remanded earlier today, and both will appear before the same court via videolink on April 27th.
