Peace activists are to stage a second day of blockades at the Clyde Naval Base at Faslane in Scotland.

Today's action is to be the second of three planned by Trident Ploughshares, CND and Faslane Peace Camp outside the base, which is home to the UK's fleet of Trident-armed submarines.

Yesterday, 113 people were arrested at the nuclear submarine base, near Helensburgh, Argyll and Bute. Among them was Scottish Socialist Party leader Mr Tommy Sheridan and CND chair Ms Carol Naughton.

Police estimated up to 300 people took part in the demonstration; campaign groups said about 400 peace activists were involved.
