A Security man told the jury at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court he was shot by a masked gunman who made off with a cash box outside a Co Meath supermarket.

Mr Thomas Sharkey told Ms Mary Ellen Ring prosecuting, he collected the prepared cash box from Supervalu, Haggart Street, Trim, Co Meath. He heard someone shout "robbery" and when he turned a man grabbed the box and shot him in the right hand before making off to a waiting car.

Mr Larry Cummins Jnr (30), Dunne Street, Dublin has pleaded not guilty to robbing £3,437 from Mr Sharkey at Haggard Street, Trim, Co Meath on October 22nd, 1998.
