There was a heavy Garda presence in Limerick this morning at the funeral of Mr Kieran Keane.

Mr Keane was killed as part of family feuding in the city last Wednesday. He was buried in Castletroy after 11 a.m. Mass in the city.

The funeral had been postponed for a number of days because family members wanted to wait until Mr Keane's nephew, Mr Owen Treacy, was well enough to attend. Mr Treacy was stabbed repeatedly in the attack that killed his uncle but left hospital on Tuesday.

Mr Keane died hours before Mr Eddie Ryan and brother Kieran turned up safe and well after they were allegedly abducted in Limerick a week earlier.
