Snooker: Mark Selby will need to stage a terrific final-session comeback tonight to keep his World Championship hopes alive. The form player coming into the quarter-finals now trails Ding Junhui 10-6 ahead of this evening's third and final session.
Ding had led 5-3 overnight but soon added to that advantage. He will need just three frames tonight to reach the last four.
Selby had made six centuries, setting a new Crucible record for the most in a match, in his second-round win over Stephen Hendry.
But Ding was keeping him subdued on Wednesday morning with breaks of 93 and 76 helping him move further in front.
Then a crucial run of yellow, green and brown in the final frame of the session earned the man from Wuxi a four-frame advantage.
Ding's form was delighting Ronnie O'Sullivan, who had one eye on the match ahead of the afternoon resumption of his quarter-final against John Higgins.
O'Sullivan wrote on Twitter: "Nice to see Ding playing well.. I love that boy.. If I don't win it.. I would like to see Ding win it.. He is my chinesse [Chinese] brother..''
