British police have uncovered a "small cache" of what they believe to be Semtex explosive at a storage unit in west London, writes Rachel Donnelly.

In an operation involving anti-terrorist officers, the area around the unit was sealed off by police yesterday as forensic experts carried out a search. However, the cache was not substantial and had "not been primed for immediate use", according Scotland Yard.

Police believe the explosives were linked to the IRA and had been left in a small locker since the end of last year.
