Seven protesters were arrested yesterday at a South Dublin County Council office following the council’s refusal to release two seized horses.
Alan Murphy (24) and Christopher Casserly (20), both from Clondalkin, have been staging sit-ins with their families at council offices in Tallaght for over a week. They were among those arrested.
The men had their horses seized as a result of having them on public land at Loughview Road on Monday May 9th. There is a €650 fine per animal to have them returned, a figure the men have said they cannot afford.
Four of the protesters were charged and released on bail while the remaining three were given an adult caution and released.
