A stabbing incident in Drogheda early this morning has left two people critically injured and five others with less severe wounds.
Gardai were initially contacted about a disturbance near a pub on Laurance's St in at around 12.30am.
A 17-year-old thought to have been involved in the disturbance left the scene and ran to West Street where it is understood he confronted a group of men with a knife, stabbing seven of them
The men - aged between 16 and 38 - were brought to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda and one of them was subsequently transferred to Dublin's Mater Hospital.
The youth was arrested at the scene and is being questioned at Drogheda Garda Station under section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.
