SARAJEVO - A Bosnian Serb court jailed seven Bosnian Muslims yesterday after a murder trial which the international community labelled a "travesty".
Despite heavy international criticism and pressure, the court in Zvornik handed down 20 year prison terms on three Muslim men accused of murdering four Serbs and sentenced the other four to one year each for possessing firearms.
The court denied the defendants the right to he represented by lawyers from the Muslim Croat federation and appointed Serb lawyers who were given just five minutes to present their defence.
Meanwhile, a Croatian court, has sentenced the Yugoslav army chief of staff, General Momcilo Perisic, in his absence to 20 years in prison for war crimes.
