Bogota - Seven policemen died in a left-wing rebel attack with home-made mortars and dynamite on a small town in north-eastern Colombia, police said yesterday. Four police officers in the village of Tomarrazon in Guajira province died when rebels dynamited the small police station late on Saturday, according to Gen Tobias Duran Quintanilla, operations director of the National Police.
"Later a police patrol clashed [with the rebels] and there three members of the police were killed," Gen Quintanilla told Radionet radio.
