The Scottish Football Association have urged Celtic manager Martin O'Neill to meet with them and hold clear-the-air talks.
The Parkhead boss was seething when he learned that Didier Agathe's red card against Dundee on Saturday will stand and that Neil Lennon could be banned for allegedly making a hand gesture during the same game.
O'Neill insists the SFA are guilty of double standards and pointed to Scotland's defeat against Germany last week as an example of inconsistency by the footballing authority. Scotland defender Christian Dailly escaped punishment after being caught on camera making a hand gesture at Germany's Tobias Rau before being picked up on live television calling Rudi Voller's men "cheats."
O'Neill is furious that Lennon could face punishment for a similar offence to the West Ham defender and that Chris Sutton was banned for claiming Dunfermline "lay down" to hand Rangers the league title last season.
The Celtic boss fumed yesterday: "Can someone tell me the difference between Neil Lennon making an alleged gesture to the crowd and Christian Dailly making a clear abusive gesture towards towards one of the German players last week? "Now, no-one, for one second, wants Christian Dailly to be in any trouble but there's a clear inconsistency there. It's the same with Chris Sutton being banned for what he said at Rugby Park and then both Dailly and James McFadden being allowed to call the Germans cheats. "I don't see one blind bit of difference."
