Arsenal lived dangerously before beating Schalke 04 3-2 tonight in Champions League group C thanks to two goals from France striker Thierry Henry.
Arsenal, missing England's Sol Campbell and Ashley Cole and captain Tony Adams in the defence, went 2-0 ahead with two goals in three minutes in the first half but let the German visitors back into the game with a soft goal just before halftime.
An Henry penalty seconds after the interval, after Patrick Vieira had his ankles tapped by Schalke goalkeeper Oliver Reck, built another two-goal advantage but a superb diving header by Emile Mpenza kept Arsenal nerves on edge until the final whistle.
