Waterford 3-17 Limerick 1-14: A hat-trick of Dan Shanahan goals clinched the Munster title for Waterford this afternoon in an enthralling showdown at Semple Stadium.
Shanahan fired three second-half goals to kill off Limerick and claim the Deise's third Munster championship in six years. The Lismore clubman also gave a masterclass of point taking, scoring from almost impossible angles, as Justin McCarthy's side prevailed.
Limerick, after their epic encounter with Tipperary, trailed by just one point at the interval and were always in with a shout in a tight contest but had no reply when Shanahan went on his goal blitz midway through the second period.
