Dublin - Critics of US actions in Afghanistan are locked in a "1960s anti-American time warp," according to Fine Gael's spokesman on justice and defence, Mr Alan Shatter.
Mr Shatter said the US should be congratulated and not criticised for what it had done since September 11th. While no-one could guarantee that further acts of terror would not occur, "a firm message has been given to those who may intend to perpetrate such acts that the US and the international community of democratic nations are committed to defending democracy".
