Newcastle striker Alan Shearer insists he will ignore calls to postpone his retirement for a second time.
Manager Graeme Souness has stated he would like to see the former England skipper backtrack on plans to hang up his boots next summer.
The Scot successfully persuaded Shearer to play on this season but the 35-year-old is adamant he will finally call it a day this time.
"As far as I am concerned, nothing has changed. I will retire at the end of the season," Shearer told The Sun.
Shearer chose to stay on at St James' Park for one more year after originally declaring he would call time on his illustrious playing career at the end of last season.
That decision has been justified by over 20 appearances for the Magpies already this term, with Shearer also adding another eight goals to his awesome tally - taking him to just one short of Jackie Milburn's club record of 200.
That form prompted Souness to say: "I said last year that I do not see a player on the training ground who is ready to pack in and there's nothing that's happened since which suggests that has changed.
"It's like everything - if you're enjoying it, why stop?"
