Cape Town - A South African court trying the antiapartheid cleric, the Rev Allan Boesak, on fraud charges yesterday investigated the disappearance of part of a donation from the musician Paul Simon.
Mr Boesak (52) has pleaded not guilty to 32 charges of theft and fraud over the disappearance of 1.1 million rand (£128,000) of donated money. This came mainly from Scandinavian charities, but also from Mr Simon, who raised the money during his "Gracelands" tour, and the charitable arm of Coca-Cola.
