Six men have been arrested in a crackdown on organised crime in south Kilkenny and Waterford.

Six men have been arrested in a crackdown on organised crime in south Kilkenny and Waterford.

The operation was launched from Thomastown Garda station early this morning and involved several raids.

A number of items were seized and investigations are ongoing.

A Garda spokesman said six men, aged from their late 20s to early 40s, were arrested and are being detained in Thomastown, Waterford and Wexford Garda stations under Section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act 2007.
