Six men accused of a string of sex offences against a schoolgirl when she was 12 and 13 are to be tried at separate hearings.
The men, aged between 23 and 33, deny 22 counts of sexual assault on the girl, who is now 19, in a number of locations around south Co Donegal in 2002 and 2003.
Judge Ray Fullam ruled yesterday at a special sitting of Donegal town Circuit Court that each man be tried separately “in the interests of justice”. An earlier trial collapsed on the fourth day in November 2007.
