Six die in accidents

Mr Mark Coughlan (20) from Mullinavat, Co Kilkenny, was killed at about 4 p.m. when he lost control of his motorcycle and was involved in a collision with a tractor. The accident happened on the N24 at Mooncoin, Co Kilkenny.

Yesterday morning a 27-year-old man died in a house fire in Sandymount Road, Dublin. Gardai do not suspect foul play.

Four people died in traffic accidents in the North at the weekend.

In Dungannon, Co Tyrone, two men died and two other people were seriously injured when their car crashed on the Ballygawley Road, near the Glengannon Hotel.

One of those who died was Mr Paul McDonald (22) who last month was beaten and shot in a so-called punishment shooting. The name of the second man killed in the crash has yet to be released.

An 81-year-old woman died following a two-car collision near the Drumilly road junction in Co Armagh at 4 p.m. on Saturday. She was Ms Jean Sterritt, from Carnbane Gardens, Newry, Co Down.

In Belfast a man died following a collision at Dargan Road in the docks area at 11 a.m. on Saturday. The name of the victim was not released.
