SIX people died in weekend accidents

SIX people died in weekend accidents. In Kilmainham, Dublin, two died and three were injured when a car hit a wall in at about 8.30 last night. The car left the road at the junction of St John's and the Military roads. Names were not being released until relatives had been informed.

A 14 year old boy, who has not yet been named, was fatally injured when he was knocked down by a car on the Old Cork Road at Donoughmore, Co Limerick, at about 6.30 p.m. He was pronounced dead on arrival at Limerick Regional Hospital. A post mortem examination is to be carried out.

On Saturday, two people died in Killinan, Thurles, Co Tipperary. They were Mr Gerard Carey (50), Killinan, driver of one of the cars, and Ms Margaret Morris, of Belclare, Tuam, Co Galway, a passenger in another car. Mr Brendan Costelloe (21), Killimore, Co Galway, died in a tractor accident at Tynagh, Co Galway, on Saturday evening.
