At least six people have been wounded in explosions in the southern Turkish resort of Antalya.

State-run Anatolian news agency said the two blasts happened within minutes of one another in rubbish bins in the centre of the city, Turkey's fourth largest. Police were unavailable for comment.

Kurdish separatists, Islamic militants and far-left radicals have all been behind recent bomb attacks in Turkey.

A bomb in Kusadasi last month killed Tara Whelan (17) from Kilmeaden, Co Waterford, and four other people.

It was the second attack this year in Kusadasi, a destination popular among Irish, British and German tourists. A local policeman was killed on April 30th trying to defuse a bomb planted in a cassette player.
