Two people have died as a result of a car crash in Galway, bringing the weekend's death toll on the roads to six.
A man died and a woman was seriously injured in the two-car collision on the Quincentennial Bridge at about 8pm last night.
The man was the driver of one of the vehicles.
Gardaí confirmed today that a 33-year-old woman who was a passenger in one of the cars involved has also died at University College Hospital Galway.
A total of six people have been killed on the roads this weekend.
Gardai in Mayo are continuing to investigate the death of an 84-year-old woman who was hit by a car on Saturday night.
A female cyclist in her 60s died in Co Kildare after she was struck by a van which failed to stop on the Kildare Road, Rathangan last night.
A 26-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the Garda investigation.
A 32-year-old motorist was killed in a single-vehicle accident in Co Westmeath yesterday morning. And on Friday night an 84-year-old woman died following a crash in Co Cavan.
A total of 315 people have been killed on the State's roads so far this year.
