Six police officers were injured when they were showered with bottles by a large crowd in Tyrone, it emerged today.
The officers had been trying to arrest someone for public order offences in Abercorn Square in Strabane when they were confronted by a crowd of about 60 people.
The Police Service of Northern Ireland said a number of bottles were thrown at officers and CS gas was used in response. A spokeswoman described the incident as a minor disturbance.
One man and one juvenile were arrested.
