Six people have been arrested and a quantity of cash seized after gardaí broke up one of the largest gangs involved in ATM fraud in the Dublin region.
Officers from the Garda Bureau of Fraud Investigation also recovered cameras, skimmers, a card-making machine and large quantity of credit/bank cards.
The four men and two women being questioned are all non-nationals. One man has appeared before Dublin District Court under the Section 4, Criminal Justice Act.
The others are being questioned at Bray and Shankill Garda Stations. An alert has also been issued by banks operating in Ireland and the gardaí asking customers using ATM machines to be alert.
According to gardaí card skimming equipment has been placed on a large number of ATMs. Anyone who notices anything suspicious is advised to walk away and report the matter to gardaí.
