Six men appeared at the Dublin District Court last night charged in connection with the seizure of an estimated £2 million heroin haul in the city earlier this week.

Five of the group are from Britain.

All are charged with possession of heroin for the purpose of supply and with having drugs worth in excess of £10,000, a charge which carries a mandatory 10-year sentence on conviction.

Mr Mark Kane, 29, of Clondalkin in Dublin, Mr Tom Waddell, 37, Mr John Lynn, 51, his 21-year-old son, also named Mr John Lynn, and Mr David Watt, 37, all from Glasgow, and 65-year-old Mr Thomas Mulvey, from Liverpool, were remanded in custody until next Thursday.
