Racing:Pat Smullen has ruled himself out of the vacancy at Ballydoyle left by the departure of Johnny Murtagh. The 33-year-old was installed as favourite to succeed Murtagh as number one to Aidan O'Brien and the Coolmore horses following Murtagh's resignation on Monday.
However, Ireland's champion rider is to remain as stable jockey to Dermot Weld.
"I've got a very good job and I ride for some very good owners so I'm happy where I am," he said. "I'm staying with Dermot and very happy to do so. He's a world class trainer and he's got some great owners. I'm very happy in the position I am at the moment."
Murtagh quit the job yesterday, revealing in a statement that he would not be renewing his contract for the 2011 season.
