Surfing-hotspot Bundoran in Donegal has more than its towering waves to celebrate today as last night's winning lotto jackpot ticket worth more than €12millon was bought in the centre of town.

The €12 quickpick ticket was bought at American House on Main Street in Bundoran yesterday afternoon, according to the National Lottery.

The winner now has 90 days to come forward and claim the €12,155,282 prize, the 11th biggest jackpot in Irish lotto history. The largest jackpot was won in June 2008 when 16 workers from the Dan Morrissey syndicate in Carlow scooped €18 million.

The latest winning jackpot had been rolling over since 12th April.

The National Lottery has advised the winner or winners to sign the back of the ticket, keep it in a safe place and call its offices.

There was no winner of yesterday’s Euromillions Jackpot, although Friday’s Jackpot is still a guaranteed €100 million.
