An action brought against socialite Ms Renata Coleman by her son and daughter, relating to the distribution of the estate of their late father, was settled at the High Court yesterday.
In the proceedings, which were scheduled to run for three weeks, Mr Anthony and Ms Annabel Coleman, with addresses in New York, had sought declarations and orders against their mother.
Under the terms of the settlement announced yesterday, their mother acknowledged that the late Cecil Coleman, who died in 1989, had set up a secret trust in favour of the children.
Announcing the settlement, Mr John Gordon SC, for the children, said that the parties had resolved all their differences.
Ms Renata Coleman lives at Humewood Castle, Co Wicklow.
She purchased the castle and its 450-acre estate in 1992 after the death of Madame Hume Weygand.
In their statement of claim, Annabel is described as a graphic designer, her brother, Anthony, as a businessman, and their mother, Renata, as a hotelier.
The claim mentioned a series of companies, some with registered offices in Dublin city, and others which are registered in the British Virgin Islands.
