Health officials attempting to trace the origins of an E.coli outbreak in west Belfast have broadened their search to four schools.
The Eastern Health and Social Services Board said an investigation into an outbreak of the illness in the New Barnsley area was continuing. Initial tests conducted among children attending the Matt Talbot Nursery School, where two members of staff were diagnosed as having the illness last week, had proved negative.
However, the board said that because tests conducted among staff at the adjacent St Bernadette's Primary School had shown one member to be carrying the infection, further investigations were now warranted.
