Star miler Soviet Song has been scratched from Saturday's Juddmonte Lockinge Stakes at Newbury after scoping dirty this morning.
Trainer James Fanshawe had hoped to start the five-year-old off in the Group One contest but will now have to wait for the Ridgewood Pearl Stakes at the Curragh on May 21st.
"We scoped Soviet Song this morning and she scoped dirty so we are not leaving her in the Lockinge," said Fanshawe. "It is disappointing, but apart from that she seems in good form. We will have to play it by ear regarding what we do next, but if she scopes clean by then we should have her ready for the Ridgewood Pearl in Ireland a week later."
Soviet Song landed the Group Two Ridgewood Pearl Stakes last year and went onto a hat-trick of Group One races including the Sussex Stakes at Goodwood.
