Three Irish businessmen were killed and six others were seriously injured following a horrific motorway crash in southern Spain on Saturday.
Mr David Rafferty, Mr Frank O'Connor and Mr David Berrie died when the minibus in which they were travelling was involved in a head-on collision with a car on the Cadiz-Seville motorway, which is near the town of Las Cabezas de San Juan.
The three were salesmen for Cork-based wine merchants Barry & Fitzwilliam.
The Spanish driver of the minibus, Mr Ramon Torro, a father of five, was also killed.
The group had been in Spain on a wine-tasting visit since Tuesday, as guests of Spanish Sherry firm González Byass. They had been due to fly home yesterday.
At the time of the accident, the nine men were being driven to Seville on a sight-seeing trip.
The six survivors, who remain in hospital in Spain, are Mr Austin Quinn, Barry & Fitzwilliam founder Mr Michael Barry, Mr Gerald Lenehan, Mr Michael Walley, Mr Colin Downey and Mr David Murphy.
All six were said to be in a serious but not life-threatening condition.
The driver of the other vehicle sustained minor injuries.
Mr Barry is understood to have sustained severe spinal injuries as a result of the crash.
The Spanish authorities said yesterday that the cause of the accident had not yet been determined.
