Two youths were shot and beaten yesterday evening in Belfast. One, aged 15, was shot in the leg. The other, aged 17, was shot in both legs. The incident took place in the predominantly loyalist Woodvale area of north Belfast at about 6.30 pm. Neither youth's condition was thought to be life-threatening.
A 28-year-old man was recovering in hospital yesterday after being shot in the leg on the outskirts of north Belfast on Tuesday evening. The man was ordered out of his car by five masked men at about 7.30 p.m. in the loyalist Rathcoole estate. He was then shot in the calf.
Meanwhile, a 16-year-old youth needed 67 stitches for injuries to his face and back after being attacked with a knife or broken bottle by up to seven men in the Lenadoon area of west Belfast in the early hours of Easter Monday. A 19-year-old man was attacked when he came to the teenager's aid.
