More than 2,000 special needs children will meet pop star Samantha Mumba in Dublin today, before heading off to the 44th Dublin Taxi-drivers Special Children's Outing.
Mumba, her boyfriend Sisqo (famous for the Thong Song), players from Shelbourne, and Dublin's Lord Mayor, Cllr Michael Conaghan, will wave the children off from Parnell Square as they are taken by some 600 taxis for a day's entertainment at Club 92 in Leopardstown.
The taxi-drivers will cook lunch for the children at Leopardstown and boy band Zoo will provide the entertainment along with face painting, clowns and jugglers. Sponsors of the event, Ambrosia, will supply custard for the day.
The taxis will gather at Parnell Square from 11 a.m. and traffic restrictions will apply in the city centre.
