UCD 0 Sporting Fingal 0:Liam Buckley's Sporting side failed in their attempt to go back on top of the Airtricity Premier Division at Belfield tonight after they were held by a UCD that were well worth their point.
The Students could even have had all three and had a great chance with five minutes to play, only for Chris Mulhall to fire over from 16 yards.
Mulhall played provider for another good chance in the first half when he put through David McMillan, but Fingal goalkeeper Darren Quigley made a fine save with his feet.
Sporting did get the ball in the UCD net on 80 minutes, but the offside flag had been raised as Gary O’Neill tapped home.
