Springbok locks Geo Cronje and Quinton Davids, who were embroiled in the racism row which overshadowed the Springbok camp`s activities this week, were the two big losers as coach Rudolf Straeuli announced his 30-man squad for the World Cup tonight.

Straeuli omitted both locks, but he included uncapped Blue Bulls lock Danie Rossouw, while there was also no place for utility back Brent Russell and full-back Jaco van der Westhuyzen.

Cronje was cleared earlier in the day of the claim that he refused to share a room or bathroom facilities with Davids because of the colour of his skin.

Rossouw, the replacement lock, is a former flanker from Cronje's Blue Bulls province. He is currently serving a four-week ban for punching an opponent in a Currie Cup match last month.
