Tottenham Hotspur have signed Porto striker Helder Postiga, the club announced today.
The deal for the 20-year-old Portuguese international is valued at stg£6.25 million rising to stg£8.25 million depending on appearances and team performance.
Postiga has agreed a five-year contract and will join the rest of the squad for pre-season training at the start of July.
Postiga was Porto's top scorer with 19 goals as the club won the UEFA Cup, Portuguese league and Portuguese Cup last season.
"He is a player who will add definite striking quality to our squad and is a young player of proven ability," Tottenham manager Glenn Hoddle said on the club's website.
"I'm sure our supporters will enjoy watching him over the coming seasons."
Chairman Daniel Levy added: "This exciting signing demonstrates our commitment to increasing the strength and quality of our playing squad and will hopefully assist us in our quest for success next season and beyond."
