Crixket: Sanath Jayasuriya returned to the scene of one of his greatest triumphs to engineer another one-sided Sri Lanka victory and expose England's one-day shortcomings once again.
The former Sri Lanka captain may be approaching his 37th birthday later this month, but he demonstrated his on-going effectiveness at this level by inspiring the tourists' emphatic 46-run triumph in the second match of the NatWest Series.
Jayasuriya hammered a vintage 122 off 136 balls to help Sri Lanka record a commanding total of 319 for eight.
But he was equally effective with the ball, ending Kevin Pietersen's threatening innings of 73 and finishing with three for 52 as England stuttered to their 12th defeat in the last 16 one-day internationals after being dismissed for 273 with 3.2 overs remaining.
