St Gall's 0-13 Kilmurry-Ibrickane 1-05:St Gall's were crowned All-Ireland Club Senior Football Champions after their 0-13 to 1-05 victory over Kilmurry-Ibrickane at Croke Park this afternoon.
The west Belfast side had too much firepower for the Clare champions despite the latter showing early promise after Stephen Moloney found the St Gall's goal after barely a minute on the clock.
However Kilmurry were left to rue too many wides, while their opponents had no such issues. The sides went into the break with St Gall's leading 0-08 to 1-01.
CJ McGourthy was particularly impressive for the new champions while Michael O'Dwyer and Moloney kept pressing for the Clare side.
In the second period St Gall’s always had the measure of their opponents and seen-out the win to banish their narrow one-point defeat by Salthill in the final four years ago.
Kevin McGourty was also highly influential for St Gall’s and at the start of the second period they extended their lead to seven with three unanswered points through Kevin Niblock, CJ McGourty and Sean Burke.
Moloney and Rory Gallagher traded further points before the game petered-out in the closing stages – the winners didn’t record a single score in the final 15 minutes, and didn’t need to either.
