St Patrick’s Athletic will take on Shelbourne at home in the glamour tie which emerged from this evening’s third round draw of the FAI Carlsberg Cup.
Both teams had differing paths into the third round. St Pat’s had to make it through a replay after a 2-2 draw at Richmond Park against Galway United before eventually winning the away tie 1-0. Shelbourne on the other hand trounced non-league side Rockmount 8-0 at home.
Shamrock Rovers, who face Cobh Ramblers at Tolka Park, also endured a replay after being held at home 2-2 by the holders Dundalk. Rovers’ then travelled to Oriel Park to win 2-1 in the replay.
Fairview Rangers, the only non-league side left in the Cup, take on Finn Harps at home. All ties are to be played on the weekend of the 18th of August.
