Club Championships: St Vincent's of Dublin will face Cork's Nemo Rangers in the All-Ireland club football final after both came through their respective semi-finals this afternoon.
St Vincent's dethroned reigning champions Crossmaglen Rangers, winning 2-9 to 0-11 in Navan thanks mainly to a powerful first-half display in which goals from Brian Moloney and Tomás Quinn helped establish a comfortable lead.
Predictably, Crossmaglen rallied after the interval but were ultimately unable to bridge the gap despite restricting the Leinster side to just one point from play in the half.
Nemo Rangers will seek to win yet another club title following an utterly convincing 0-14 to 1-4 win over Ballina Stephenites in Ennis. Nemo were barely stretched in a one sided contest, Ballina's last minute goal bringing only a modicum of respectability to the scoreline.
In hurling, 2006 champions Portumna set up a showdown with Birr thanks to a 2-13 to 2-9 win over Loughmore-Castleiney while Birr's second-half dominance helped them to a 0-17 to 0-9 defeat of Dunloy.
