Racing:Steinbeck is pencilled in to make his return in the Irish 2,000 Guineas after pleasing in a racecourse run yesterday.

Aidan O'Brien's charge suffered a setback in March which ruled him out of the English Guineas last weekend, but he pleased connections in a gallop after racing at the Curragh and is due to return on May 22nd for the first Irish Classic.

Derby hope Jan Vermeer was also in action, along with Lillie Langtry and Rip Van Winkle.

O'Brien said: "We were very pleased with the horses that cantered up after racing. Hopefully Rip Van Winkle will now head to the Queen Anne Stakes at Royal Ascot, Lillie Langtry could have her first start in the Irish 1,000 Guineas (and) we will aim Steinbeck for the Irish 2,000 Guineas.
