Two Shetland ponies stolen from a circus in Limerick early yesterday morning were returned to their owners about 8 p.m. yesterday.

Fossett's Circus offered a reward to the finder of the miniature animals, which are worth about £2,000.

Tinky and Po were noticed missing by circus staff at 2 a.m. yesterday after they found three other Shetlands loose.

The animals form part of the Telly Tubby Ponies act at the family-owned circus, which has been performing at Greenpark, the former Limerick racecourse, since Thursday.
