More than 50 years since their first gig, the Rolling Stones have been nominated for the best British live act award at this year’s Brits. The band played five shows in 2012 – two at the O2 in London in November and three in the US.
Leading with three nominations each are Emeli Sande, Mumford and Sons and Mercury prize winners Alt-J. Muse, Plan B, Rita Ora, Jessie Ware, Ben Howard, Paloma Faith, Olly Murs and Coldplay received two each.
The surprise inclusion for best British female is Amy Winehouse, for her posthumous album Lioness. – (Guardian service)
