Kampala - The strain of the Ebola virus that has killed 47 people in northern Uganda is genetically related to a type previously seen in outbreaks in south Sudan, scientists confirmed yesterday. "It is not a strain coming from Sudan, but it is the same genetic type as the strain that was isolated in Sudan in 1976 and 1979," Mr Pierre Rollins, of the US-based Centres for Disease Control (CDC), said from the northern Ugandan town of Gulu.
