People from all over Ireland will be invited to come out and get to know one another next month as part of a new initiative to celebrate community.

The Street Feast day which has been announced for July 18th aims to introduce people to their neighbours.

Organiser Jerrieann Sullivan said: “The idea came about as I’ve lived on the same street in Ranelagh, Dublin for two years and had never spoken to any of my neighbours”.

"We wanted to organise something that would appeal to everyone and bring people together", she added.
