Racing:  Studmaster will run at Leopardstown this weekend rather than Newbury en route to the Vincent O'Brien County Hurdle at Cheltenham.

Trainer Jessica Harrington does not want to run the Pierse Hurdle winner from 7lb out of the handicap in Newbury's totesport Trophy for which he was 12-1 with the sponsors.

The six-year-old, who was not guaranteed a run on Saturday, will stay in Ireland for the T C Matthews Carpets Handicap Hurdle at Leopardstown on Sunday.

"He definitely doesn't run at Newbury. I've left him in in case anything happens to John Queally's horse but he's too far out of the weights," Harrington said.

"He will run at Leopardstown on Sunday instead and then in the County Hurdle at Cheltenham.

"He is improving all the time but he tends to go on soft ground now. When we first got him as a four-year-old he won on firm ground so that was all we tended to run him on. He's been a revelation this year though.

"I think he'll go on any ground so he should be OK at Cheltenham but the fact he has had a bit of leg trouble in the past means I wouldn't risk him on firm ground. I would hope he will be jumping fences next year."
