Researchers have found more than two million people make fools of themselves every year at their firm's Christmas party.

Research by Corporate IFA Momentum Financial Services indicates that almost half the working population - 13.2 million people - will attend their work Christmas party this year.

But the research suggests that this could be a blessing in disguise as enjoying a good party could have a detrimental effect on employees' careers.

The company have extrapolated their findings and have concluded 2.3 people admit to doing something embarrassing at their office party every year. Just under half, 44 per cent or one million workers, admitted to dancing inappropriately.
